After simultaneously going through eerily similar journeys, two best friends felt called to join hands and tell our stories of infertility, treatments, adoption and motherhood. We were given two unique paths to walk and stories to tell about surrendering to God's plans. Both of us knew with certainty early in our journeys that our stories were given to us to grow our faith in ways we could have never imagined and to share boldly with others in hopes that someone else walking this difficult journey of infertility would be encouraged. In September, Our Not So Engineered Life will be celebrating a year of existence and we will be celebrating a year filled with incredible lessons that God continues to teach us, absolutely precious moments connecting with other women that have been encouraged by our journeys and are walking through their own, incredible opportunities to share touching stories from other brave women that have a passion similar to ours, and so many beautiful examples of support from so many of you.
So that brings us to this perfect FMF prompt… Begin.
Where do we begin to say thank you to all of you who are supporting us with your prayers and encouragement as we put our lives out for others to view? It's scary to tell your story… not knowing what kind of reaction you will get. We've both experienced a bit of criticism and skepticism but have been blown away by the amount of encouragement from those both near to us and from those we will likely never meet. Your kind words and prayers mean more to us than words can ever say.
Where do we begin to say thank you to all of the other women and couples willing to share their stories with us, either privately or for us to post as guest bloggers? You are crucial in letting others know that none of us are ever alone in our struggles. Whether it be infertility or trials of motherhood, knowing there is a community of women who support each other, through prayer, faith, stories, and laughter, can get us through even the worst of the days.
No matter where this blog takes us, where we begin and end is with our constant prayer that none of this is about us… it's about being vulnerable enough to be used fully by God to bring comfort, faith, hope and encouragement to others. It's about living intentionally and fully in the life that God has planned for us… not the ones we engineered for ourselves. It's about surrendering to Him fully so that we can live fully in His grace and extending that grace to all those around us. It's about Him and it's about each of you who are reading our words. All the words are meaningless without His inspiration and you… the ones that long for some encouragement or a connection today.
So we begin by just saying thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all our readers from Courtney and Jenny.
